First home buyers looking to buy at The Range estate in Morwell have been given a huge leg up, thanks to major housing affordability changes to be brought in by the Victorian Government.
This month Premier Daniel Andrews announced stamp duty would be abolished for all first home buyers for purchases below $600,000.
In an added bonus for hopeful home owners, the First Home Owner Grant will be doubled in regional Victoria, from $10,000 to $20,000. “By doubling this grant, we’re giving young people in regional Victoria even more reason to live locally,”Mr Andrews said.
“With negative gearing and capital gains tax concessions, the odds are already stacked against first home buyers. This will help level the playing field.
“These changes will help thousands of Victorians make the Great Australian Dream a reality.”
The changes only bring further appeal to land offerings at The Range, which already offers Morwell’s largest average block sizes, providing the perfect mix of housing affordability and quality housing for first home buyers.
Both measures are due to come into effect on 1 July 2017.
